unbeaten Lyoto "The Dragon" Machida confirmed through his Twitter
account, that the next time he steps inside the Octagon it will be
against no other than Quinton "Rampage" Jackson. Two former UFC Light
Heavyweight Champions will look to bounce back from defeats in their
previous fights, with sights on getting back into the mix for the shot
at the UFC 205 belt.
Speaking to
MMAFighting.com more than a year ago, Rampage Jackson labeled Machida as "too boring to promote":
"Lyoto
is a weird fighter. He's kind of boring. I think that style works for
him, the way he makes people run after him. I mean, he's good, he's
undefeated, but he's boring. If I was the promoter of a show I wouldn't
have guys like that fighting on my show." The date and venue for the bout are yet to be know, but it looks like Machida and Rampage
could meet at UFC 123 in November.
Rampage Jackson blamed ring rust for his disappointing performance
against Rashad Evans at UFC 114, will now have six months if the bout
goes in November, just like Lyoto Machida who fought at UFC 113.
