However, Danzig was in no danger of being submitted and had his wits about him as he was still decalred the loser, so now the UFC has set up a rematch between the two for the upcoming UFC Fight Night 22 event set for September 15, from Austin, Texas.
According to Heavy.com sources close to the event have confirmed the bout as it will be taking place as a part of the televised main card on Spike TV.
Both Mac Danzig (19-8-1) and Matt Wiman (12-5) were in full support to get into an eventual rematch and now they shall receive.
Following a successful stint on season six of The Ultimate Fighter, Mac Danzig has not lived up to his full potential as Danzig has lost four of his last five fights after winning the first two fights in his UFC career earlier and could be facing the possibility of losing his spot on the roster with another defeat if he does not even the score with Matt Wiman who has now won his second straight bout following back to back losses to Sam Stout and Jim Miller as Wiman has since bolstered his Octagon record to 6-3 while Danzig stands at a mediocre 3-4 organizational record.
UFC Fight Night 22 will feature a middleweight showdown as talented striker Alan Belcher takes on Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu master Demian Maia in the main event of the evening.
